So what realistic car would get you out of your Aston?
I wouldn't trade as well. AMs are balancing the elegance and performance too well...
The other day though, Alfa Romeo 4C caught my attention mostly because of its attention to the weight (~2000lbs!). The styling is not bad as well IMO...

I hope you're getting some interest in your Aston--it is beautiful.
You misunderstand. I like Ferraris and Lambos; I do not hate them. If I lived on a paved deserted island, I'd have one to enjoy. But in populated areas? No thanks, don't need to look like a massive tool.
Wow, a lot of Ferrari haters here.....
I'm a track junky, and I actually admire what Ferrari has done with their cars....phenomenal technology.
Well, my history is that I do love Astons....have had a V8 Vantage and a DBS. Both sold for Ferrari's - first a 430 Spider and then a 16M.
The Ferrari is not as flashy as you think if you buy the right color. Obviously red screams, "Hey look at me!!!"
I've had more people talk to me about my DBS than my black 430 in regards to attention.
If you hate attention, then don't get an orange or Isotope Green Lotus. Of all my cars, these got crazy attention due to the color.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Aston marque, and nothing else appeals to me more aesthetically. But IMO, they are underpowered.
I am a true driver at heart, and love the direct steering input and feel of cars and for me it's Lotus and Ferrari - true racing heritage embedded in their street cars.....to each their own.

A 458 or McLaren at $150K.
I really like to drive these cars every day. I've tried a 430 and its a lot of fun, but not really an every day car.
The new Vette is just so tempting. I really think I need another garage because I think what I really want is to keep my Vantage and get the Vette.

Aston Martin truly offers the best exotic car driving experience for people who live in the real world. The entire driving experience is perfectly attainable without drag-racing from stoplight to stoplight or ending up in a tree somewhere.
I considered a 458, MP4-12C and an SLS AMG when I was purchasing my DB9. What the aforementioned are "made" to do and "capable" of doing is impressive; whether or not you'll ever see that off of a racetrack is probably abysmal. Everyday driving them was rather boring and often annoying (especially my Gallardo).
What gets me out of my Aston? My Cessna 182.

Know what I've discovered? There are lots of 'haters' for those that drive Ferrari's and the owners are the butts of a string of jokes especially from track junkies. Haters gotta hate and all that. But that never happens with an Aston - seems no one really has anything bad to say about that 'image' outside of an occasional James Bond reference. And that means you get a bit lower profile when out and about. Less people trying to race you with their chipped STi or zoom up to peer into the car to see what kind of cat is driving it. And I like the lower profile approach, I don't want to be the Star of the Highway and get all the small ***** jokes, et al.
So for me, I'm staying with Astons and they just got a '09 black DBS Manual in at the dealership that is torturing me somewhat. I must not test drive it. I must not.
I will admit that 50th Annivesary 991 Porsche made me configure it a few times on the website...but for what they want for that car new I can own that DBS....

Is it John's? They had two of them, pretty much identical. I drove the one they put up for sale and John took the other one. Almost pulled the trigger on the first one but I haven't seen it there for a while.
Again, I drive a car for the massive adrenaline rush that it gives me - the passion and the fervor. I could care less what other people that I don't know are thinking.
No massive tooling here
Ferrari as a company is an asshat.
Lamborghinis are terrible to drive.
BMW and MB are far too common.
Audi and McLaren are too tame.
And, honestly, I'm scared of Porsches because I've had Subarus most of my adult life, and I'm used to throwing nose-heavy cars around. Stick me in a butt-heavy 911, and I'm gonna spin the thing. Into a tree. With death and fire.

I've owned 2 Aston's and was going to buy a DBS or 2013+ DB9 till I drove a Ferrari F430. After that I was sold. I wound up buying the Scud for all of the reasons plastique999 mentioned. The adrenaline rush you get with the car is amazing! I'll eventually get another Aston but for now Ferrari.
