I know this has been debated before but, has anyone successfully run the Vantage V12 wheels on a V8. The wheels are wider with a different offset

Should fit just fine. If you can find a used set for a good price it's a great wheel upgrade and fixes most of the offset issues. You can run much wider rear rubber too (not that you really need to on the V8

Yeah, I recall that someone said before that they will not fit.

Take a look at 20" DBS wheels. I ran them on my '07 V8V fine.
