tsang002 is infamous around these parts
First start up

When I start the car after letting it sit for couple of hours, I notice when the engine starts up a sound like a horn from the engine plays along with it. Like a bugle blowing from low to high? Any one know what this is about?

Mine does the same thing on cold mornings and continues to a lesser degree until warmed up. I believe it to be a belt seating.

Due to a trip my DB9 sat for 5+ weeks. I followed the "re-commissioning after storage" recommendation (p11.56)in the owners guide to ensure good oil pressure, pre starting. Made me nervous...but worked for me. Other items to check out were somewhat routine.

Like Karl said. It's the oil pump. There is nothing wrong. There was an update to a plastic relief valve from a metal one to stop the noise. Again there is nothing wrong, it really only happens at first start up from cold, after an oil change, or holding at a certain rpm.
