Adjusting power windows "stop" point on 09 Vantage. (and many other questions)
apologies in advance as i'll be making a few posts here soon as i just purchased a vantage....
my current questions:
A: drivers window "whistles at speed on highway"... is there a reset procedure to make the window go up another 1-2mm?... i know on porsche you can force an override to relearn, which is needed after battery install..
answer: hold switch down, keep down 5 seconds, hold up.. keep 5 seconds... then it's reset
B: on the dash by the shifter, there is a "P>>>" button, and another button next to it (looks like fog lights?)... what does the P do, and the other one never turns the light on.. is it only at night? or special circumstances?.... not sure.
button when "lit" turns off the sounds for parking sensors
C: door pulls act like a bmw, one pull to unlock, another to open... is there a way to either turn off the auto lock(i believe thats what it's doing).. or make it one pull to exit?
options in dash under "lock settings"
D: luckily the mirrors are set to close at lock, not sure where that setting is or even how to manually close them.. but they close when you lock car.
options in dash,
E: best place to buy clear tails? found for 800GBP online from england.
astonbits is the cheapest for the tails. 750gbp
F: any shifter kit available for the car, the shifter feels very bizarre and doesn't have a strong/firm feel when you put the car into a said gear... i guess i prefer a mechanical feel versus luxury feel?
not one available, deal with it
G: doors have "key holes" in them, but none of the fobs have keys... what are these for and what is the emergency entry setup if one were to lose the fob? is there supposed to be an actual key somewhere to open the door in emergency?
emergency key is missing, i need to buy from dealer using vin and registration
thank you.. and again my apologies.

also. the gas filler lid sits a little "off center"... is it ok to simply try and bend it back.. or is their adjustments in/under the fender well?.. it sits maybe 3mm off center.. and rubs body slightly when closing.
not sure if ok to bend, i guess i'll try

any idea cost of emergency key? i've seen ignition keys for sale 75GBP online but no "door" keys, i assume they are similar... coded by Vin?
also, anyone make a kit to have a USB plug for audio input (ipod/etc)?
would love to somehow play pandora over my stereo, 3.5mm miniplug or hopefully a USB cable for a nominal fee and less than 50 hours of my time.

A: Window reset is press and hold down until it hits bottom and continue holding (3-5 seconds) until you hear a click. Then do the same going up. If that doesn't solve your problem you need to have the window alignment adjusted.
B: Fog lights are in the rear. Check for extra brightness when you press that switch.
C: Check your menus on the info display. There are a couple of choices for door unlock.
Did you get an owners manual with your car?

You have Park distance control on the car when in reverse, pressing the "P" button disables it.
D: luckily the mirrors are set to close at lock, not sure where that setting is or even how to manually close them.. but they close when you lock car.
Press both RT and LEFT buttons on the mirror switch at the same time to fold and unfold the mirrors.

Not cheap, don't always look good on every color car. There are used ones that come up from time to time. See if this former Aston owner still has his to sell, send an email to chirag1@gmail.com for the clear tail lamps (he sold his 07 Vantage).

Actually for a cable shifter, this one is pretty good. The transmission is in a transaxle, so that cable has a long run to make. The shifter is not atop the transmission like on a BMW. Some vagueness expected (like a Porsche, which is also a cable shifter). No short shift kit that I know of for the Vantage, but I don't think it needs one...

any idea how to align if needed, i had a car once with random screws in the door, but i assume have to remove door skin and adjust how it holds the glass?.. ill try the reset first however.
no owners manual, otherwise i would be reading and looking online nobody has ever posted a pdf of the manual...
my other thoughts were glass buttons but they seem a lil steep... but they look great.. i think glass key is more important...
i would love an ipod cable, or a USB connect but i dont think that's happening outside a $500++ Dension unit..
DB's don't have any. So you're saying that Vantages do? I was under the impression that rear fogs are illegal in the US.
The entire Aston line of cars shares variants of the same taillights (except for the One-77 and Zagato). They are all the same size and dimensions. The only difference is the color of the lenses and outer trim.
Rear fog lights are just a brighter set of red tail lights that can be turned on and off individually from the normal rear lights. Their purpose is to allow others behind you to see you better in adverse conditions. They are not white nor are they as bright as forward facing fog lighst because, again, their goal is for you to be seen, not to illuminate the way for the driver. If they were white, it would look like a car is driving or reversing in front of you as you approach them.
