The Aston Martin takes a large M14x2 closed ended lug nut application. Does anyone live in the SoFla area that can stop by our TiKORE facility so we can take precise measurements of the wheel studs protruding from the wheels?!
We manufacture the same application for the Ford Raptor guys, but these are about 2" long. The Aston wheel studs do not extend this far out, so we would like to offer our titanium masterpieces for you guys!
Aston's OEM lug nuts feature a built in washer that seats without spinning as you torque them down. The benefit of this, unlike most, if not all aftermarket lugs nuts is that the nut base does not turn and rip/scuff the painted surface on the seat of wheel.
Its not an issue, i have never had paint on wheels damaged by aftermarket lugs or etc. titanium is definitely the strongest/lightest option. Thye are not cheap... But they sure look 10x better than the standard aftermarket options out there
Could you send me a measurement of how far the wheel stud sticks out? We can make an OPEN ended without a problem, I just need this info to show the engineers how long of a CLOSED ended option would be needed.
I've got a rotor and hub sitting in my garage. I'll take a measurement and pic tonight if nobody gets around to it.
And, out of curiosity, how much for a set of open-ended lugnuts?

I don't get it. Is the cost-to-weight reduction of Ti lugs really worth it to you guys? I bet you can lose more weight by drinking a couple of cups of coffee.
This sort of reminds me of casual weekend bike-riders or high-school swimmers who shave their legs to cut down on aero/hydro resistance. Unless you're competing in the Tour de France or the Olympics, I doubt they would make any discernible difference.
It's not about the weight, it has nothing to do about the weight. It's the fact that all the lugs out there are hideous truck lug nuts that are too long.
To have a fully machined set of lugs to the proper length that look clean & classy is worth the extra investment. If they made a set in Stainless Steel for less that would be even better, but since titanium is the only option then it will have to do.

Whatever floats your boat, though.
If I end up getting a set of these, it'll be for the combination of looks (I love titanium's finish), versatility (gotta love custom options), weight savings (the cost-benefit here doesn't add up for a street car, but it's an added bonus), and for security.
The only other option I know of for us is from Otis in LA. Great company to work with, some of the best customer service I've seen. But they only offer "standard" lugnuts - nothing extra pretty, aesthetically - and their closed-end lugnuts are too long, though functional.
As for shaving legs for cycling - I did that when I was a young, spry mountain biker. It wasn't for speed for me. It was so I could more easily clean the dirt and debris out of wounds when my skin got torn open from inevitable wrecks
These are going to fall into the same category as the Raptor lugs we machine. Longer wheel stud requires us to machine a longer lug nut application for closed ended options.
