Somehow it just doesn't seem right that the ACO allowed the Vantages to carry more fuel than anyone else in their class. They go out of their way to encourage fuel efficiency in LMP1, and then turn around and grant the Astons an extra 5 liters per tank...just so they run 14 lap tanks like everyone else. How is that fair?

Keep in mind that Aston is a very small manufacturer compared to its competition (Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, Ferrari, etc.). I could turn around your argument and ask how it would be fair to expect that it would have the technology to develop more fuel-efficient engines like the "big boys" do? Adding a bit a fuel so the number of laps between pit stops is on par with the other cars in the category levels the playing field.P.S. "interesting" username you got there.
Well, it's not LMP1 and the added fuel does add a minor weight penalty.

Or imagine in Golf if people used handicaps.
In racing, it is very common for restrictions or concessions to be made to cars in order to equalize the playing field. Otherwise it would be very boring if Goliath always won.

Applying special benefits doesn't really help anyone. If they win, it's a hollow victory because no one will know if they really won or if the benefit won for them.
