What's up, 6speed Forum? My Aston has arrived!

After more than a year of research and watching the market, I finally purchased one of my all time favorite cars: an Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

Let me start by saying the Vantage meets most (if not all) of my criteria in a sports car purchase:
- Naturally aspirated
- Offered with a manual transmission
- Rear wheel drive
- Mid-front engine placement for optimal balance
- 2.5” wider, 4” shorter, and 4.5” lower than my e46 M3!
- Relatively few major issues
- Reasonable service costs
- Not a Porsche (this is a low blow…I see myself in a Porsche at some point, just not right now)
- The Aston Martin marque (it’s always fascinated me)

The “lack” of power or torque from the 4.3L is a non-issue for me. In practicality, I’d say its thrust is very comparable or slightly better than the e46, which is plenty IMO.

Finally, on to the car. Like I said, I’ve been off and on in this decision for over a year, so by now I’ve known exactly what I’m looking for in colors, options, and service history. I found the perfect car in California, had it inspected, and shipped down to Texas. Shipping sucked btw…took every bit of a month.

2007
Tungsten Silver over Obsidian Black leather with contrast stitching
19,000 miles
Annual servicing like clockwork
Only two prior owners
Forgeline wheels
H&R springs
Interior leather smells brand new
Nav, memory seats, powerfold mirrors, cruise, bluetooth, premium audio, etc

Now on to the pics…

Thanks to this forum (and Grant's book!) for being such a great source of knowledge about these cars! I'm sure I'll have many more stupid questions to come!

I think the AM center cap might fit those wheels. I can send you one of mine if you want to try it?

Thanks everyone! It's great to officially join you guys!

And Chris, I might send you a PM later! If you don't mind, I'd love to test one out first before dropping $100-200 on a new set that doesn't fit.

Jackpot! Gorgeous car, love the color combination and the lever-action shift. Congratulations, that is a keeper.

On a side note: Your courtyard is really nice. I love the black stones.

Cheers!

Welcome to the club! Great color choice! Lots of interesting discussions around here and if you need specific information do a forum search. I spent days when I got on here and researched all sorts of things! Hope you enjoy the car as much as we do!

Man those wheels are awesome and the offset is PERFECT! Well done sir!

Don't worry about power, it's so cheap and easy to unlock gobs of power on these cars with minor bolt ons and tune. You made the right choice going to Aston!

Nice looking car! That level of lowering with the H&R springs really looks badass. Your photography is excellent - I wish I had such nice pics of my cars.

Also, funny to see that the car came from Sill-Terhar motors (at least at some point). That dealership belongs to my ex father in law.
