What do these pipes do?
The lower pipe goes to the valve cover, it is a crankcase breather hose. I suspect the upper hose in the picture is for the throttle body bypass. At idle the throttle body is almost completely closed, but there is a hole before the plate and it usually goes to a bypass into the intake manifold to allow the car to idle with the throttle plate closed or almsot fully closed. I have not taken a close look at my car, but that seems most logical from the picture. There isn't much reason other wise for the induction system to go under the intake manifold unless it was going to the other bank of cylinders, which I know that hose doesn't do.
