Airbag replacement at ten years?

I seem to recall reading in some AM literature that at ten year service the airbags have to be replaced? Am I imagining this? I can only imagine the cost of doing that.

I think you're also supposed to replace the seatbelts at some point. Sounds like lawyers getting involved in a CYA operation to me and the car companies profiting from it.

It's in the owners handbook in the service section. b Replacement of both Airbags & Seat belts @ the 10 year mark. Most manufactures call for inspection @ 10 years not replacement. The vehicle does an inspection on every key cycle. (no light = no faults).
