bought new v8 vantage S six speed
If anything it needs less darkness. The carbon strakes are so sad and unappreciated on there. This is my biggest gripe about the S dressing. Carbon finish on something that was designed to be a bright highlight is just sad. Makes sense on a Lightning Silver or white car, but gray through black need some bright bits. While your wheels are not brilliant, they are nice. If you change them out, consider that some brightness is good. Isn't there a variation on the very same wheel with the recessed surfaces blacked out and only the flat faces left in the DT finish? Try that.
Thank you for bothering to read this entirely unsolicited input.
NOOOOOOO.

What's the overall consensus on de-chroming a vantage?
(Probably, it all boils down to personal taste, but I'd like to hear a range of opinions).
I think it comes down to what is the exterior color of the car. If it's a lighter color car or at mid color, car de-chroming might be nice. If it's a black or very dark gray or very dark green, ect car then there won't be any contrast. I know some People are going for is the mono look but for me a little contrast is nice. For instance on my car I think the chrome is a nice accent. As with the wheels that have some contrast with the car. Just my $0.02.
