Nice comparison- V12VS and 991 TurboS
Everyone knows the TurboS is going to be a far superior car, objectively. But this paragraph summed it up perfectly in the verdict:
"Only stupid emotions could possibly steer you into the seat of the Aston. An illogical love of that V12 engine, or a sense of awe and beauty surrounding the carbon-fibre-clad trim and hand-finished coachwork. No way would a sound mind, led by objective fact, trade the Aston's out of control power for the Porsche's carefully metered ballistic tendencies."
Astons shouldn't be trying to be something they aren't - ie, Porsche. They need to keep doing what they do so well - appeal to emotion. That's what makes a review like this even readable. "The Porsche is a great car, just about faultless. Buuuuuut I want to put my tongue on the Aston." And it's even more important when Aston doesn't have the financial backing that Porsche has. There's no way AML can compete on the same level as Porsche if they try to replicate Porsche. But there's also no way I'd buy a Porsche when I get tingly at the sight, sound, or even thought of an Aston.
Kinda rambling a bit, but it's for context as to why the comparison is even worthwhile.
