V8V battery conditioner question

OEM battery conditioner that came with my 2007 for a time would not get past stand-by mode. Now it switches to motorcycle mode, but not automobile mode. Charger gone bad? Battery going? Thanks.

Have a new OEM one, not sure if it's the same, but mine requires an exact sequence to get it into the correct mode...1) plug it in and wait until the ready light is flashing, 2) plug it into the car, 3) Select the mode before it stops flashing.

At that point, even it's unplugged it will return to the previous mode. Took me a few tries to get it right.
