Embarrasing! Passenger Door wont unlock, advice would be appreciated!
i have a 2006 Vantage, i was at the gym with a friend and once we where leaving the passenger side door would not unlock. like always everyone is looking at the vantage and we could not get the door to unlock even with the key. The passenger had to go in through the driver door, YES EMBARRASING! lol. Every time we would pull the handle to open the car we would hear clicks for around 5 seconds and then it would stop. Is this a common problem? has anyone had this issue? what needs to be replaced? just trying to avoid having to take it to the dealer...i hate knowing that parts that cost so little to make they charge SOO much money for... its the principal of it lol any help would greatly be appreciated! thanks.

I'm not sure if you'd find this helpful, but there is a thread on another forum about lock/unlock problems with the Vantage. Found the thread:

i actually was able to unlock it the next day, you could not open it from the inside or the outside. When i would try to manually unlock it something didnt seem right when i would turn the key. the next day i kept pressing the unlock button and all of a sudden i heard something snap inside and it started working again. i lubricated the door latch and i put the key in with lubricant to see if that made a difference. i am going to try that test on the link to see if it has the same bug.
Aston could not get there supplier to work out all the bugs in the door modules from Spain. Aston changed to another supplier closer to then in the UK to deal with the issue..just to upgrade to these newer door modules, both door modules would require replacement. I'm not saying this is your issue, just giving some inside detail of these modules..
If you heard a snap from the door area, I would shoot towards 1 of 2 things..either the inner door handle cable or the latch. The cable can bind and keep tension on the latch not allowing any function at all. The latch is the other concern, there is a white plastic arm on the latch that is used to unlock by another metal linkage arm. Basically the metal linkage arm wears the contact point on the white plastic lever arm..When this symptom happens, the latch will not unlock by the inside handle neither and intermittently by the electronic unlock.

Fixed this over the weekend
Resurrecting an ancient thread here because this same exact thing happened to me on my 2016 Rapide S (driver side rear door). It wouldn’t open from either the inside of outside, seemed like it was locked and wouldn’t unlock even when all other doors were. The only way it would eventually open is (as mentioned above, and thanks for doing so! That helped me a ton to be able to open the door) was hitting the unlock button rapid fire a million times while also pulling on the interior door latch.
Eventually I was able to open it, and thought the door module had died. To confirm, I removed it and the door module from the other side’s rear door to swap to see if the issue followed. After plugging everything back in, to my surprise, it didn’t…The module I thought was to blame worked on the passenger side.
After confirming the door module was indeed functional, the wiring harness was next on the hit list. After confirming wire continuity, the culprit was the door latch and locking mechanism. I pulled the mechanism from the door, opened it up to find a bound gear!! I put it back into place, plugged it in, hooked eveything else up and it worked!
Just posting this for anyone else dealing with this issue on an Aston.

I had to lubricate my door locks last year and it resolved this problem. I think there is some grease or other lubricant that may age in the mechanism. Some WD40 released the lock mechanism easily. I was unable to turn the physical key in the locks (and unwilling to try too hard).
