Just an update: I cleared a pending code (P0497) with my ELM 327 reader, and drove approximately 60 miles. Doing another scan, there were no codes so I made my way to the smog check station (it's that time) and along the way, read 3 pending codes (P0497, P2402, and P2406). Argh!! I turned the car around and parked it. Not sure what else to do, especially with smog/registration coming up in Sept. Any ideas or suggestions would be welcomed!
On a related note, the airbag SRS error message still shows up. Have adjusted the passenger seat away from the rear interior and shelf, but after a few drives and about 90 miles, no luck in going away just yet.
What do you guys think? Is it time to take it to the dealership?
The SRS light you really don't have a choice to do a dealer visit, at least to figure out what code is being stored. There is also a seat heater recall, has it been down yet? It won't delete a SRS light but if it's a weight sensor calibration odds are the dealer won't charge much or any to calibrate the seat if that's the concern.
The Diagnostic Monitoring Tank Leakage (DMTL) pump is showing what's wrong, in detail looks like the resistance is too high on the circuit that powers the pump, check power at under bonnet fuse box F28 and compare with pin #4 at the pump connector, if I remember right it should be above 4.97V. If you have this, I would replace the DMTL pump. You can get the same one but way cheaper in price from Land Rover. Pick one up for a 2006-2009 Range Rover Sport.
Thanks very much for the suggestions! Will definitely take a look at the workshop manual and figure out where and how to get to the pump connector and check voltages per your suggestion. Unfortunately I won't be able to dig further into this for another 2-3 weeks. I'll definitely keep folks posted. Searching for these codes on other threads haven't really shown a conclusive fix to date.
The SRS light was a result of having taking my car into the dealership to get the seat heater recall and gas filler cap recall performed. When I picked the car up from the dealership, the service tech informed me that the light should go away. But I have a sinking feeling that it's not the case.
Sorry for the late follow up. I took my car to Walnut Creek Aston Martin a few weeks back and it was great to meet Tim finally. Tim and Kyle were both super friendly and easy to talk to, and we chatted about the east coast (DC and Virginia), as Tim just recently relocated to CA. Tim performed a thorough inspection of my car, cleared the airbag code, and performed a smoke test on the evap emission system. Tim found a leak at the evap fuel purge valve, replaced it in short time, and I was on my way. I drove 60 miles back with no issues, and tried to get the car smogged but the tech advised me to accrue more drive cycles and mileage for computer data. So, last week I took a leisurely drive through the mountains and found myself driving along the Pacific Coast Highway. 120 miles later, no check engine light or emission code shown. Will attempt to smog the car next week.
For those of us who have the engine codes above, I hope this helps! And for any owners located in Northern California, I cannot recommend enough to give Tim a call at Walnut Creek. They just recently re-opened and are co-located with Maserati, Alfa Romeo, and Bentley. It was great to wander around and admire all the beautiful cars on display. The garage space was clean and cozy. They will move to another location nearby with a much larger workspace later this year.
Thanks again Tim @ Walnut Creek, and thanks everyone for the support!
