Bad News if you use Aston Martin of Washington D.C.
Just wanted you all to know that Tim, a lead tech from AM of Washington DC will be leaving his position there! I'm not entirely sure of the circumstances but if you know how good he is this is bad bad news! He is by far one of the most experienced members of the AM community when it comes to these cars. On top of that he is probably one the nicest guys on the planet!
I met Tim almost 2 years ago when searching for my Vantage. He did the PPI for me which had me very confused. When I explained to him my concerns he literally walked me through everything I needed to know to make an educated purchase. Not only that he made himself accessible by phone & texting even after the purchase! To date he's probably spent hours of his personal time with me just answering my questions. Seriously so thankful for him and would like to wish him GOOD LUCK on his next endeavor wherever that might be! (hopefully with more AM's!)
If anyone uses Instagram his profile is here: https://instagram.com/timo_dc
If anyone has any experience with him please comment! Either that or go get your service done before it's to late!!!

Well crap - he called me on Thursday about getting something done on my car and I texted him just this morning to arrange it!!
I'll echo what Peter said above, Tim's a fantastic guy and extremely knowledgeable about our cars.

Yeah, he is. I talked to him last night, he's relocating to SF. Not sure if he's staying in the AM game but, if he is, owners in that area are getting a huge asset.
Nice!

Was told the same thing about Walnut Creek by Marin Luxury. In fact, Marin Luxury can't do any warranty work at this point. New location is supposed to be across the street from Cole's European.
Great Champ!! Usually bump into Tim on the odd training class, nice guy and very knowledgeable!! He's going to do great in the SF area!! ..don't think I've every seen his face without those aviators!! LOL

On May 30th of this year, I purchased a new 2014 V8 Vantage from Pieter and Tim. It is Volcano Red/Black/Manual Transmission.
I have owned many sports cars i.e. Vintage Ferraris, too many Porsches and currently a new R8. I had never owned an Aston.
Tim was almost too good to be true. He was very knowledgeable, always accessible, and most importantly demonstrated complete honesty and integrity.
I did communicate with him on occasion in June-he never mentioned his planned departure.
I am completely taken with this lovely red Vantage. The R8 (manual transmission)is a kick-*** sports car. The Vantage is an elegant GT in the best British tradition.
Hopefully Aston D/C will find a strong replacement for Tim McCarthy.
I did find my sales person (Pieter) and their parts manager (Axel) to be very helpful.
BTW I had some minor warranty work done by Miller Motor Cars in Greenwich. Their work was perfect, enclosed transportation was fit for royalty, and their Aston service manager (Armand) was completely accommodating.

I'm also looking for an independent AM shop in the NoVa/MD/DC area, as a preparation for a new arrival. Any suggestions? Basic AM maintenance looks do-able by myself, manual clutch replacements might go smoother with a helping hand or some wisdom.
