2016 Model Year Changes
#107
Hi,
I have never posted on this site before but I have been following this thread for a couple of weeks because I am looking at ordering a 2016 GT. I was at my dealer only one week ago and they showed me a bulletin from headquarters detailing all of the changes for 2016MY for V8, V8 S, and GT, including the new console design, wheel options, et al. There has also been a modest bump in the MSRP but no changes beyond that. Also, I just saw this gallery that was posted today on "inautonews':

Based on all of this, it seems like they will still be making the GT for 2016. I haven't heard anything about the "limited" end of run model except on these forums, so maybe that car will be produced alongside the regular lineup, rather than replace them.

Let me ask permission to see if I can post the most recent bulletin... (Don't want to get anyone in trouble or step on anyone's toes as it was shown to me confidentially).
Will report back in a few days...

Just received the Summer-2015 edition of AM. They describe the 2016 changes for the Vantage series as follows:
AMi II infotainment system
Five spoke wheels for the V8V, V8S, N430 and GT
New Vantage facia including new facia finishes
New interior trim packs
New leather colors
New exterior colors
This data clearly implies that the Vantage line remains intact and that the changes are anything but "huge"

Just stop at my dealer Aston Martin San Diego this afternoon and had a chat with my sales guy James who used to be at Newport Beach. They have 2 2016 GT and I was able to sit in it.
I have a 2015 GT and do wish I have the new infotainment system. It does look a lot sleeker. Didn't start the car so not sure if you are able to toggle through radio and other settings without having the screen up which would be nice.
Everything looks about the same except for the wheels. I liked them better than the 2015 base ones, but not as nice as the optional lightweights forged wheels.
He did confirm no new orders/specs on vantages, but they have 6 more 2016 GTs coming in.

007 Vantage's latest post looks very official.
I stand corrected.
Thanks for your information
Is it possible that the US market will be handled differently than other markets?

Believe me... I know haha
It is possible that the US market gets a special edition and others do not. There have been regional special editions before (N430 vs. GT etC). The letter does state that the USA does get a special edition so perhaps yet again we get the good one (a rarity in the car world).
It does not get any more official than that press release... We will have to wait until Sept for more specs most likely. It will be a while since production does not even start until Jan.

Just to be clear, what you posted was not a "press" release.

Well, maybe it is related to the side impacts issue, and they can only sell a limited (by NHTSA) number of Vantages here in the USA. That might explain why this doesn't apply to Europe and why they are making it a special edition (at a high price I would guess) to up as much content as they can on those few chassis they are allowed to sell?
Just a thought.

Good thought, but the Vantage line has NHTSA exemption through September 2017.

Yes the exemption only allows 670 cars
