I am looking for my next performance mod. I had tried HFCs but they were way too loud for me. I want to keep the sound at around stock.

Does any one have experience with headers alone on a 06-10 V8V. Is it noticeable power and how does it affect the sound? TIA

Headers with OEM cats shouldn't be too much different from stock. Cats and muffler are where the biggest volume increases come from.

I'm not sure if anyone has done headers-only, but when I was asking about adding headers to my setup (cats and muffler), Stuart said there wouldn't be much increase in sound level, if any.

Headers are a good addition, but if you already have HFCs, I would consider pairing those with either an X-Pipe center section or a suitable rear silencer, which will bring the sound level back into range.

Cats really are some of the low hanging fruit and it is a lot of expense to install headers and leave OEM cats installed versus tweaking the sound level with cats to a comfortable level.

Email or call me any time and we can discuss some of the options for you.
