Very nice. Did you install the rear spoiler or did it come with the car? I'm interested in your opinion about the fit and finish as some I've seen appear to sit flush while others present an obvious gap.

*Edit* I just noticed the spoiler was not present in some pics so you obviously added it. Who is it from and again, your opinion on the fit would be appreciated as its one thing I'm still on the fence with regarding my project.

LOVE that last shot of the rear end with all the carbon bits on it. I'm planning on doing the same to mine eventually.

And brilliant work with the makeshift tool, I'll have to take a note when the time comes!

Nice, I like the front look.

We literally have the same car, haha

Wow what a beautiful Vantage love the color . I also like the personal touches you've done very nice. I too have an unusual color on my Vantage (Merlot Red). I was originally looking for a dark to mid silver gray when I considered buying a Vantage. I came across this car looked at it multiple times before deciding it was the one for me. I guess when it comes down to it, these cars look good in almost any color but certainly one that's is usual can be more striking.

Thank you! Yes I installed the rear lip as you figured out, and yes your worries about fitment were justified. It fits about as horribly as a SE1B0N or dare I saw VI5 carbon part (for those who know) and required substantial sanding and grinding on the underside for it to look the way it does now. However, after some massaging with a 3000rpm grindstone drill bit, it fits OK. The edges still protrude way too much off the surface of the hatch. It gets worse with every mm of double sided tape that you place which elevates the damn thing more. Mine is from DNA, I heard the Kip Engineering version fits better, but I didn't want to wait so long for the part.

That's awesome, please share with me your experience with install and feel free to ask if you need pointers. The only narly bit was having to drill eight 8mm holes into the back end of the bumper that are clearly exposed. Good luck!

Seriously? That's great! Have you done anything to the car? What were your initial thoughts on the color when you first got it?

I'm glad you found appreciation in the non-basic color pallets and have stood proud being different from the crowd! It comes with owning an Aston too. I think I've seen a couple pictures of your Vantage and the Merlot Red is very striking. Not to tell you what to do, but a mid silver gray would make excellent contrast on your car if you choose to change anything.

I appreciate an unusual color as much as the next guy, however there really is no crowd of similar cars out there. I don't think I will ever be in danger of going to a parking lot and not being able to tell which black Vantage is mine

That's what I thought you'd say. I've got a Vorsteiner rear spoiler on my CLK that fits like a glove so I'd be expecting one for the Vantage to be the same but it appears that's just not going to be the case.

Looking forward to seeing your build progress.

Yep, I've done some stuff to it... very similar to what you had in mind too actually haha.

When I first saw the pic I was smitten. I hate green cars but I love the color, in the pictures before purchase the car looked matte green which was cool, but google image showed that it was metallic under sunlight which I thought was okay. But seeing it in person blew me away, I love seeing the car when I leave and come home through my garage every day

Here is a pic of mine:

Completely agree, I totally love the black body Vantage. Please share some pictures of your black beauty?

Kevwood, thank you. The expectation at this level is that fitment should on point. I took some additional photos for you to give you an idea of what it looks like:

It's from DNA-3ng1n33r1ng. I'm confident that it will, but it takes some work to make it fit right.

Thanks Nick, I'll let you know when I'm ready to buy.

Here's a somewhat better quality picture from last night.
