Pen Holder

The pen in my V8V doesn't stay in the holder. Anyone know how it is supposed to work. Seems that it should stay put. Ever time you accelerate it come falling out. If anyone knows how to fix it please share.

Do you have the right pen? Supposed to be a Lamy Pico.

Yes it is the right pen. It even has the Aston Martin logo on it.

I believe there is an O-ring that provides the holding force. May have deteriorated or became dislodged? Sounds like it needs to be taken apart for inspection.

These pens get lost easy, when looking to buy, I've seen many missing, and you can get replacements on E-Bay. I wonder if your's is a knock-off E-Bay pen? Another point - never put the pen in backwards - I made that mistake - was a pain to extract.

What year Aston has the pen? And we're does it go. I don't think my 2007 Vantage has one.

It's a cheap piece of junk really. It's there just for symmetry purposes. Funny thing, I forgot it was there. I was pulled over the other day scrambling to find a pen to write something down. Of course it was there the whole time

The sport button on late Vantages replaces the pen

My understanding is that late V8V has the sport button as well.
My 2014 V8V MT has the sport button.

Yeah just checked the book. Sport Mode button became standard in 2014, replacing the pen. Seems like a nice trade. Lose the pen, get better exhaust!

Resurecting this thread--my pen is stuck. When I push it in, it ejects but then it won't budge when I try to pull it out. Thoughts on how to extract? Or am I just not yanking hard enough? [Insert crude 6th grade joke here.]

Thank much. Andrew

Mine was hard like that Andrew. I just kept rotating it in both directions and it eventually worked loose. I think they tend to get stuck if they are not removed.

After a bit of elbow grease, some mild cussing, and a low level fear that I would smash my elbow once it came loose, I succeeded at getting the pen out.

Now I'm wondering what to do so this doesn't happen again.
