Vantage service cost....

I talked to a mid west AM dealer today and he advised that around $1200 to 1500 for service a year is normal for a VantageV8. Is that sound high, low, about right or what? That excludes tires or brakes. He added that the 2 year service warranty contract is $6700. Seems alfull high to me. Was looking for feed back.

In 2015 the AM dealer nearest me charged my car's previous owner $1505.96 for an "annual service" on a V8 Vantage. The service included changing the oil, brake fluid, transaxle oil, pollen filter, and windshield wiper blades. They charged 5 hours of labor at $169/hour ($845). Parts were $612. Tax was $48.96. The car was in the shop for 2 weeks before they actually did the work.

Buying the parts and doing the work yourself is an option, none of the services are difficult or require special tools. If you can change the oil on a Chevy you can change it on a Vantage. Or have an independent who charges less than $169/hour do it and buy the parts from a vendor that discounts, there are plenty of those out there. The dealer charges $13/qt for oil, you can get it from Amazon.com for $10, that saves $33 right there. And so on.

I've used dealerships twice for annual service. First time was $14xx, second time was $8xx. I've done it myself for the last couple years for far less.

I'll reply in a couple of months when I take mine in for its first annual service.

That sounds about right in the midwest. Show your AMOC membership and get 15% off on parts and labor.

My surrounding dealers do - LFSC, Napleton/Chicago Aston and Aston of Troy. Give your local dealer a call. I'm sure they would love to support AMOC members.

Supposedly all dealers give the AMOC discount. I've never come across one that didn't.

Skip the dealer unless you really need to go there!

FWIW, any qualified mechanic who works on high end cars can do your yearly service. Try to find one that knows Astons. The only thing that needs changing annually is the oil/fliter. I drive about 6k a year. So roughly one service a year. The rest of the fluids are on a much longer schedule.

So typically I get my filter & gasket kit mailed to me from AM of New England in CT for about $45. I buy twelve qts of oil on amazon for $120.

My mechanic charges 1 hour of labor to change the oil, inspect all the fluids, and inspect the rest of the car mechanically. $90/hr. I could do the oilchange myself, but I like having his trained eye look over the rest of the car.

Annual service has been $255 the last two years as nothing else was needed. I will change the coolant, brake fluid, etc this year.

Sorry to bring back up this slightly old thread, but saw this while on the AM website today:

https://www.astonmartin.com/en/ownership/servicing

For the transaxle fluid change, it says to do it at 40K Miles...is that truly the interval or is it a 4 yr/40K Miles change? Assuming it would be the same for 6MT and ASM

Apologies if this has been discussed before

Interesting.
I just had the 3 year service completed and it ran me just over $1,000 in California.

When I dropped the car off, the device manger informed me the 4 Year service was double the 3 Yr (We weren't sure if I was due for a 3 or 4 year service)

He indicated the transaxle and brake fluid change as the primary driver for the increase.

Looking at this website, prices should be pretty close to the same...

I love Tim over at Walnut Creek, but I may go to TRG Aston Martin after my warranty expires.
I hear they have great prices and perks...

My 2015 Vantage just had it's first service at Foreign Cars Italia. The service was $899, and just over $1000 after taxes and disposal fees. They did oil and brake fluid, plus all the inspections. I was in and out in about 6 hours.

Yeah, just the gear box oil change at the indie cost me 900 bucks, they had to buy the fluids from aston, and it was something to the tune of 70+ a quart

The cost of the transmission fluid hurts. There's no direct replacement (that I've been able to find, at least), so we're stuck with the high price - it's a sole supplier, bought through high-priced dealerships, and a special formulation, all of which adds up to a nasty price tag. For what it's worth, you can save a ton by using normal gear oil instead. Only downside is difficulty with the 1-2 shift when the gearbox is cold.
