AM Owners and Watch Collectors

I noticed through my previous post that several of us are watch collectors. Does anyone out there have the JLC that opens the car doors? If so, I'd love to hear your impressions.

Since we are on the topic, what's your favorite watch to wear while driving your Aston. Collectors and others are welcome to chime in.

Mine would be my A. Lange and Sohne Langematik Perpetual when in a suit and probably my Royal Oak Offshore when in my jeans on the weekend.

wish I could afford one, and the upgrade to open my car

Bell & Ross (navtimer)
Rolex two tone Sub
Citizen Red Arrow Eco Drive (best and cheapest of the lot)
IWC timezoner

Told my wife I won all of them, cos women always think more than one of anything is a waste, and to support that I only really wear 1 watch and that is the eco drive, I dont enjoy flash, just enjoy owning it

On first instinct the idea of buying to "own" sounds strange to me as I use everything, but it's probably more common than I think in the watch collectors world? Keeps them mint?

I have a couple of vintage Omegas, an SM300 and a Constellation piepan from the 60's, and a modern Planet Ocean and a Deville Orbis in blue.

I have a strange want/fascination with/need for a vintage Speedmaster from the late 60's or early 70's. Specifically with one of the rarer case backs. I already have too many expensive hobbies, lol

Must resist......

I was all set to buy the JLC transponder, but then I realized there was little point since the fun of it is locking/unlocking your car. But I only lock my car maybe once or twice a year, so it would be a total waste (no one to show it to...).

I'm having a hard time swallowing the price tag on the Transponder, was hoping to find a used example and have it programmed to my car, but there aren't many out there. I'm just afraid it would depreciate...well...like an Aston Martin does....

I wanted one also but my dealer advised against it as they had problems with the watches. That watch is out of production now anyway. The transponder was a great idea that just didn't work very well.
I will just stick with my omegas for the Aston. I also like the Monaco and have the gulf one for my GT. Have a few Panerai and Rolex as well. Most car guys are watch guys. Just goes with the territory.

G-Shock that survived Iraq just to be eaten by a Chihuahua
Suunto super-outdoors-thing that I don't know how to use
titanium Seiko that's been lost to time, but is around somewhere
Baume et Mercier Riviera that I got as an engagement gift, both are gone
TAG Heuer Grand Carrera that I wear daily

I'd love to get an Panarai but I've been shoveling all my extra funds into other things lately

Penn Relays watch won in 1978 4x400 meter relay. Vantage is the cheaper Hamilton... I lost my other watch which was a Hamilton.

I am also RolexDaytona1 on ebay if anyone is looking for a black face.

James Bond wore a Rolex in the earlier years so I still feel it fits the Aston/Bond profile!

I like wearing my "Bond" Omega Seamaster when driving my Aston. People seem to like the whole James Bond thing.
