When they are ready to get serious about selling the car let them know that your offer is serious. When I bought my car I offered 20k less than they were asking. But I waited 18 months until the right deal came my way. Plan on spending about $550 for a PPI from a local Aston Martin dealer. Most of my purchases happen after the Ebay auction expires. Make the PPI a contingency with the offer.

Beautiful car you have picked out. Hope it all works out for you!
Did the dealer accept your offer of $20k less than list price?

Yes, the car was listed on eBay for several months. The dealer finally dropped the car 10k from what they were asking. I bid 20k less than there new lower price but did not make the reserve. They called a few weeks later and said they would accept my offer. I have purchased several cars when they call after the auction has ended and accepted my offer.

So what is the advantage to buying a used car from an AM dealer, assuming car is out of warranty? They are usually more expensive.

I know that I probably paid a little more buying through the dealer when I bought my used 2007. However the car did come with a one-year preowned Aston Martin warranty with the ability for me to extend the warranty again which I did. And I would much rather buy a car from a dealer that is familiar with the brand and able to do a thorough inspection on premises without having to take it somewhere else. PLUSE my car was sold new through my dealer, so they knew the history, without me having to investigate the cars past.
