Need recommendation for Track/Street Pads?

I'm not super-hard on my Brakes during Track Days. I'd like to find Pads that would work for both Street and Track, so I don't have to always be changing Pads. Suggestions would be much appreciated. (2008 Vantage V8)

I was really hoping I could figure out what pads came on my Aston when I bought it, but the original owner can't remember, nor can the shop that installed them. They were amazing on street and track, but dusted quite a bit (worthwhile trade-off in my opinion, given how well they worked on and off track and with no noise).

I'm going to start checking out other options to get an idea for what else can handle double-duty, but I won't have an answer for a while :/

I did get a PM response highly recommending Porterfield R4S, so I'll try those.

Those are NOT a track pad. I tested them myself and they don't hold up.

They are a great low dust street pad... but as noted, not for the track per-se.

There is always a battle between a track pad that works well after heating up.. and a street pad that gives you the best 'first' stop. i.e. work well cold. I have tried track pads on the street and it was an accident waiting to happen.... the initial stopping was terrible.

Good luck finding the right mix.

If you are only doing a few track days... would probably suggest swapping the pads out for the event.

^^ Yup. Unfortunately, expecting a pad to work well on the street AND on the track is analogous to expecting all season tires to do a good job in the summer and in the winter.

They do exist, depends on how *****-to-the-wall you are on track and how much dust you're willing to put up with!

Hawk HP Plus. If you want a decent street pad that will have high heat and high torque rating. It won't squeal on the street and will bite hard on the track. You can find them for about $175 per axle. If you want a great Track only pad, I highly recommend the DTC-70 by Hawk. They run about $250-275 per axle and bite very hard at high temps. They will eat your rotors in this heavy car! But you will be far more pleased with the HP Plus for all around use, and impressed with its torque. The R4-S is a decent street pad but will not hold up to the heat these cars generate.
