90k mile report 07 V8V

the last 10k miles have been uneventful. Aside from needing new rotors and pads on front, (rears done at 40k) an exemption for inspection, (one too many uncorrected faults) and an AC recharge, it just works well. Will most likely replace shocks next spring. Next oil change I will do all fluids. It is wise to change all tires at once as i had driver assist save me from a silly move on a dusty country road. The PSS are great and last about 20k miles. The interior is wearing well, I weigh around 150lbs and driver seat shows a little wear but looks super after cleaned and treated. The clutch is original and feels the same. The front and rockers need resprayed again. The shelf over the trunk is now bluish grey from fade and i will re-stain it at some point. I am leaning towards the n400 (?) sills in an effort to keep stone chips to a minimum, but will do nothing to the front as I prefer how it looks, also, the original wheels seem to be aging well aesthetically and I am not changing them as I had planned, even though I have an identical spare set. I do plan at some point to do the stereo upgrade for iPod connectivity.

That's great to hear! Just rolled 61k in my 2006. I believe first two owners were similar in treating the car with great care. Original clutch, work/grabs fine. I just took off my clear bra as it was aging... front looks new. headlights are on their 2nd clear wrap and look new. Need to replace the bra on the rear quarters and under the door... aging also and slightly yellowing. I put on 20k miles driving daily the last 3 years. Gas/tire/oil. All fluids planned this year. Replaced passenger dash fwd leather. Only odd item was to replace the interior cabin AC fan. Not bad. Pretty solid car considering its still in the exotic club. Let us know what direction you go for the iPod hookup. I just keep listening to the same 6 CDs over and over!

Do you have the mud flaps/stone guards? Do you have any clear film on the rear fenders?

Great to hear y'all are both on original clutch. Mine seems to be doing great but I do have some issues going into 2nd when cold, like it clicks once before fully going. I've learned to just be firm with it, do y'all experience the same?

Shifter or clutch?

1st-2nd gear cold shifting issues are common. Gear oil and an updated linkage help.

jroback is infamous around these parts
Going into 1st when its cold is my problem, not so much 2nd. Had the gear oil changed and it helped a bit. Have not had the linkage done.

I ended up testing out different approaches to find a good technique -- now, to go into 1st, I lightly pull the shifter down toward 2nd initially (not enough to go into gear, but until I feel a little resistance) then reverse direction and go into 1st. Once I got the hang of that little "bounce" off 2nd, it seems to go smoothly into 1st just about every time.

Interesting, I thought I recalled seeing something on the boards here about a TSB for this, is that true?

Have stone guard and factory protectors, but I live in tar and chip land, and the roads are cindered hard in the winter, making it difficult to keep the front and sill nice. I have even cracked a two wheels, one on a thrown shoe (horse). The most egregious area respecting paint finish, is forward rear wheel arch, above the join of the sill. I have resorted to using black wax (leave on overnite) as my car is meterioite, and it hides the white chip and makes an ok 5 footer.

If you are going to daily drive on tough roads... 5 footer is a good as you can hope for and not let your OCD go wild!
