i'm surprised you only got $45k for an '07 w/10k miles. hopefully, they compensated some with the price on the '16.

Very very beautiful car. Can the white stripes be taken off, or are they permanent ones? I think yours would look unbelievable without them, however am eyeing a black one that has the white and wonder if I could remove it?

Yes they can. The stripes are simply decals. I had instructed the dealer to remove them until we discovered that they go underneath the bra on the sides of the front bumper, and the clear bra on the front of the rear fenders behind the doors is cut around the stripes so I would have a missing area of protection if they were removed. So we decided to leave them for now.

Well done with the new car, and very nice photography - looks like it's straight out of a sales brochure with the quality of the pics! Will be interested in hearing your driving impressions compared to the '07.

 

Funny you should ask, I came home from a drive this morning and was thinking of doing a post on my driving impressions.
Firstly as you know I drove one of these briefly last August in Monterey for about 20 minutes. At that time I thought it was a sharper more refined updated version of my 2007. After driving the car for a little while I think my initial impressions were correct however in every respect this car is better than the 2007. Number one the 4.7 Engine is vastly improved over the 4.3 especially in the 430 bhp version of my new car. Secondly the transmission shifts easier and the clutch action is also lighter. Thirdly the steering and breaking are far superior, while the handling is incredibly precise without being overly stiff.
Then there are the improved seats with Alcantara and the improve center stack with the wonderful infotainment system.
Normally if I ordered this car myself, I would never have ordered the B & O stereo option. I must say with 1000 W of power and all of the speakers strategically placed in the cabin it's the best car stereo I have ever had.
I took the car to the cars and coffee event this morning in Montecito, everybody commented on the wonderful color combination and the wheels.
So long story short I am more than thrilled with the 2016. And the fact it is the end of the line makes it all that much more special.

Ron you made the right choice with the 2016 GT. They are the best V8 period, even better than the GTS in my option. They have the updated Vanquish center stack in piano black and the updated vanquish gauges which look awesome. They also come with the Vantage S running gear. They are also the best value for what you get.

Honestly the used 2007 market is beaten down (especially for wholesale), but honestly for a trade in value you did not do that bad. The older ones just aren't worth anything anymore sadly. With that said the 2016 feels light years newer than the older ones and if y0u are in the market for a V8, it's by far the best option.
