School bus damaged right rear quater panel -- 2012 V12V
#16
Well, Wake County has been relatively easy to deal with just slow. Their outside appraiser has talked to AM in the UK and gets the car can only be repaired in Atlanta and that quarter panels, parts and adhesive have to come from the UK. The inside person appears to be willing to authorize transport to Atlanta.
Fingers crossed this turns out ok.

So, Magnum has been awesome to deal with and Wake Co. has been ok with the repairs and the estimate.
Now, on to the diminished value claim.....I've had two dealerships tell me 20% off retail for this, so $22-24k. I'll see what the County says and report back.

Magnum is fantastic. Luckily I live about 2 miles from there. I'm getting a few bumper rich chips sprayed on my turbo there now. I'd be happy to go look over your car for you before it's shipped back if you'd like? Let me know.

It should be like new when you get it back, but what a road to have to go down for something you didn't cause. It's one thing if you hit something but entirely different when you get whacked out of the blue. That's what has me paranoid driving mine, they get way too close in the back, I'm guessing trying to get close enough to read the badge because they don't know what it is. Maybe I should just put a big "ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE" sticker on the back of it to keep the curious 5' away! Then again a guy almost drove into the side of me last week starring at it until he realized he was about to hit me. Don't know how to stop that.
Best of luck getting it back the way it was.

I'm going through this same process right now. Long story short, my 2011 V8V is parked and an idiot in a pickup *with a backup camera* backs into the driver's side door. Damage is about $5-6k, at least according to the initial estimate. Curiously enough, she did more damage to his bumper and rear quarter panel than she received. (Gotta be at least a little proud of that...)
Anyway, back to the diminished value thing. I asked my local dealer (Aston Martin of New England) about this. The guy told me the same -- about a 20% hit to the value. He added, though, that if I got anywhere between 8% and 20% from the insurance company I should be happy. So it's not exactly a slam dunk 20% hit.
