How do you remove the darn thing, looks like the slats can be removed from the mount without the need to remove the bumper, but I also know looks can be deceiving.

So do you have to remove the bumper?

Just need the slats out so I can paint them.

 

The bumper must come off if you are replacing the frame (item 2) however, if you are only planning to remove the slats (item 1), you can access them by removing the radiator cover and separating the slats from the frame by removing the 7mm nuts from the inside...
