Emission Systems Service Required?

Out for a drive in my 2013 Vantage V8 with 8600 miles and get a message "Emission Systems Maintenance Required" Does anybody know what this is i.e. new O2 sensor. Trying to fix without a dealer run, which is 200 miles away. Also anyway to clear message once fixed? Thanks, Mark

You will probably need an OBD-II reading to confirm O2 sensors, I was getting

P0133
O2 Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
P0153
O2 Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2, Sensor 1)

Replaced both for around $100 and all good since

Just plugged OBD-II code came back as Fault 01 PEND 00 Then hit scroll and it displayed NA 01/01. I erased the code and drove the car a couple miles. No Emissions Message. Not sure about the original fault.

Not sure what OBD-II reader you are using as I am not familiar with those code, usually they start with Pxxxx. I got myself an OBDLink MX Bluetooth and it works great for my 2009 Vantage. If the error comes back again you might want to get it read with a different reader to see if you see the actual error. Good luck

PS: according to this website it is possible that your reader is not compatible with your car...

Guess I will return OBD-II to Autozone. Hopefully they have one that is compatible with AM Vantage

Get OBD Fusion for iphone or Android with a generic ELM327 wifi reader or ELM327 Bluetooth adaptor for Android - eBay or Amazon. The guys that developed it are Ford enthusiasts - which might be why it interrogates the AMv8v ECU so well - total cost should be about $30 - I have a toolbox full of OBD Scan tools and this is by far the best I've found for the AMv8v

Works right off your iphone and the dashboard feature gives live real time data of a multitude of PID's not on the cluster such as digital temp, oil pressure etc.

Also great for emissions diagnostic and clearing errors and CEL.

Edit: I use it with an iPhone and the wifi ELM327 connector - others use it with Android where it supports Bluetooth ELM327 connectivity.

I have no affiliation with the makers - I even use this on BMW's (DME (engine) only) and I have the factory tools for BMW since it provides better logging and links to your own dropbox account to track data.
