Has anyone done a video of the new AMI III system - particularly maps and Apple Car Play?

 

Apple Carplay won't be available for a while. There was supposed to be a dealer update before the end of the year, but it has been delayed as Apple gives its approval (Thanks for making that more clear J doubleU)

 

They have it ready but can't go live until Apple approves it as a licensed product.

 

Does that mean we can just take it in and they upgrade it when it's ready, for free?

 

You should have received a letter from Aston Martin with your 2017 AM which states the dealer upgrade will be complimentary on AMI III cars once available.

 

Thought I would make a video of AMI III now that Aston announced the upgrade is available on 2014-2016 cars

 

Thanks - I guess CarPlay is not available yet? Is the map online now or still using USB stick updates?

 

Thanks for posting the video. I have a 2016 Vantgae, my understanding from the Aston web site was this was a easy update. My dealer also thought it was something they could do with a USB stick. They then found out it was on for 2017 models.
I did get a message from my service Manager that Aston Martin just came out with an up grade that is a new module and some programming for $3500.
I think I will stick with what I have. I already have text reading and blue tooth Music ect.

Yikes! Looks cumbersome compared to my 2015 simplistic system

 

Carplay is available. It is greyed out in the video because I have a Samsung phone connected
