Grundy Insurance Experiences?

Insurance renewal time as my current insurer has hiked up the premium. I see from board threads that some of you guys have Grundy. Although they appear to be very competitive I was wondering if anyone has any experience of claims / customer service etc with them?

I am looking for the same answers...subscribed.

I just got a quote from them for agreed value and they seem like the way to go. I just don't like the "restrictions" they have about where or when I should be driving this car. Maybe someone can chime in.

Maybe list those restrictions?

I use Hagerty through my Nationwide normal account. Pay $1300 up front per year, only restrictions are must be garaged, and no limit on miles. Might be a tad bit higher than others, but I know I wont get jerked around if something happens. So Peace of mind for now.

My Nationwide policy was cheaper but it is not agreed value. I will probably readdress getting an agreed value policy in the future after doing more research. For now I just want to get into the car and enjoy it for a bit.

Hagerty appears to be one of the least restrictive collector policies but also (in my case personally) more expensive than both.

that's who i went with. most of those restrictions seem pretty standard and not all that restricting if it's a weekend/hobby car for you. they will def not insure you if it's a daily.

I'm with Grundy as well for the Aston but I can't attest how it is to file a claim with them.
Since I hardly drive my garage queen M3, I just got a very low quote from Grundy for it. I will go this route as well when my existing policy expires.

True, but you could drive your car to work since Grundy has unlimited miles in the policy. It shouldn't be the dedicated daily obviously.

I just renewed my insurance and Geico were very favorable compared to the others. No restrictions at all.

just did a quote on a r8 convertible (which is crazy to insurance last time i checked) and with Grundy was VERY reasonable. May use this in the future with other exotics.

Geico quoted me about $400 higher per yr compared to Grundy, but you're right, no restrictions. With that said, it's also not an agreed upon value policy either so if things went side ways you'd end up being paid what the "market" price on a similar car is.

Daily driver so I had to go State Farm. Travelers was a little cheaper but it was within 18 months of my last suspension so not eligible. I'll look into it again next year. I'm about to up my policy which was 5k miles limit to unlimited, which will cost another $40/month.

Grundy was actually more expensive for me than GEICO. I guess the area you live has a big effect. The insurance in WA state is high. It's higher to insure my cars here than it was in London UK, which is crazy to me.

Where do you live? GEICO insures our other two cars but they told me they don't insure Aston Martin. Maybe it's a Illinois thing or I had a bad rep on the phone. They didn't list Aston Martin online either.

I was with GEICO till I bought the AM...I was on the phone for one hour with many supervisors...Bumped up the line...Finally told me great customer but they would not insure...Finally Allstate quoted me ...No restrictions...Full coverage...I live in NJ... Nightmare state! I did not check but I understand AARP insures AM cars. Haggety quoted me and pulled quote as car was too new and I did not belong to a car club...Funny..Today at the office a cold call for auto insurance came in...Asked for quote on AM... Silence on the other end...With sorry can not help you...lol
