Just a small update to a small part of this project.I came across the following Federal Regulation modification in https://www.federalregister.gov/docu...ated-equipment
It says it's effective June 14, 2016 "The final rule expands upon the proposal in the NPRM and allows license plates on all motor vehicles to be mounted on a plane up to 30 degrees upward from vertical if the upper edge of the license plate is not more than 1.2 meters (47.25 inches) from the ground. Previously, the maximum allowable upward mounting angle was 15 degrees beyond vertical. This final rule increases harmonization with existing requirements in European regulations. Additionally, this final rule increases a manufacturer's design flexibility while providing opportunity to decrease cost without compromising safety."
If this hasn't changed since - This means that I can get rid of the plate adapter which blocked the lip section of the trunk and move on with the rest of the work.
Boot Fuse Box Wiring Questions
Here goes another update - results of some wiring research.
I'm deciding what circuit to tap for the video interface. The company told me that if I use the Amplifier power, then the interface will drain the battery in a few weeks, so I should use a switched power circuit. Okay - then which circuit... I decided it would be much, much easier if I could use a circuit from the boot fuse box instead of having to get it from the front passenger side (as in the definitive guide to camera installation)...
Attached are two documents. One is a comparison of the circuit diagrams for DB9 09MY, 09.5MY and the Workshop Manual v7 (the only documents I could find on the subject). Well just to be consistent that nothing is easy comes the finding that they are not all the same and different among each other.
Also, I checked the fuse voltages in the car off position and in both key positions to see where power was available in the switched position.
The results are in some cases explainable - e.g.
.
Note that the boot lip replacement piece is coming this week and the backup camera and interface electronics are coming soon. Will provide more pics when useful. And I've gotten another rear plate adapter that I will try out.

The results are in some cases explainable - e.g.
- I have a tyre pressure monitoring module
- I have a parking sensor module
- I have a battery disconnect switch (but doesn't everyone)? And why would this ONLY have power when the keyswitch is in the full in position? Doesn't seem to make sense. It would be nicer if this were a powered spare.
- Looks like in 09.5MY they moved the Transmission Module
- Looks like they also moved the cubby box fuse, maybe.
- How do I know if I have a 09MY or 09.5MY?
- Is the switched power fuse for battery disconnect really that?
- Why does the Amplifier always have power?
- There are a number of "CONVERTIBLE" related fuses. Since I have a coupe ARE THEY ALL SPARES???

Thanks GDay2 sounds like an idea. Thanks for your help !!
The fuse tap I got is limited to 10Amps and F22 may be a 20Amp circuit - I'll check. Either way, I think there's a solution to use the boot fuses !
Getting closer...

Hi There,
To all those impatiently waiting (LOL), at least to those interested, I did it !!
I will be starting a new thread about my experience with this project.
I'll add the link, when it's available.
Hey...Great to hear...you have been a busy guy!
I am currently working in Alabama. I have had little time to follow.
I will be interested to follow your effort given on this project...I have a V8V but wonder if the same layout on the nav....
I told you to hang in...I would believe many DB9 guys will care as this is the Bread and Butter car for AM...till the DB11 was introduced recently. This series makes all other cars possible...
Good luck and safe driving...

Thanks very much !! I've posted the blow-by-blow at https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-2009-db9.html . Hope it will make sense to others. Thanks for your support and encouragement.
