Aston Martin navigation deck lid (wood) adjustments?

I'm in the process of having the bamboo upper dash and navigation insert for my 2007 V8 Vantage Roadster refinished by Madera Concepts after the dash developed a sudden crack in the extreme temperatures.

One good thing out of this is that the wear in the back edge of the navigation insert will finally be repaired.

In showing photos to Jeff @ Madera Concepts, he noted that my navigation lid appears to be just slightly higher than the surround, which may be causing the wear pattern.

As I removed and disassembled the bamboo deck lid and insert, there don't appear to be any adjustments in height - although I could use very thin shims or washers.

Has anyone else solved the problem with the navigation lid wear? I've attached a few photos of my vehicle.

If you put shims (washers) between the frame on the backside of the outer part, that would lower the navigation lid.
Or you could (carefully) grind down the nuts on the back of the navigation lid.

Or simply ask Madera Concepts to do the job...
