I've looked thru the "How do I remove this panel" thread, but I don't see anything about removing the LHS inner door panel. I have removed the two Allen head screws securing the door handle and latch assy., but I'm reluctant to start tugging on the panel in case I'm missing some fasteners somewhere. My driver's window became slightly mis-aligned yesterday, and |I need to see what it's up to in there.
The panel in my 2009 V8V was just glued and velco'ed in. It was a little unsettling but just start at one corner, using a trim tool, and start prying it off. As each spot of glue releases it sort of makes a loud pop, but it's not damaging or breaking anything. The panel itself is just the leather glued to a plexiglass template.
i might be wrong, correct me if i am. the inner door card wont gain access to anything window related,as said above just a velcro, glued top panel on the main door card, the complete door
panel has to be removed to gain access ?
There should be screws along the bottom of the door panel, the two in the door handle and I believe one up at the front of the door panel as well.
Lift up a bit to get it over the lip at the top of the door/window space.
Disconnect puddle lamp and door control switching and door unlock handle cable and it should be free.
Danno62 in particular, there are 5 small torx screws hidden around the perimeter of the door card, and one more in the side window demister port. Once I located all those little buggers, the inner panel just lifted up and off. Turned out, the larger torx bolt that locks the window into the channel that lifts and lowers the window had just dropped out, and was lying at the bottom inside of the door. There is an access hole, guarded by a red plastic plug, that allows you to re-install that bolt with the window about half-way open. Must be intended to let someone replace the side window if it breaks. All in all, about a 3/4 hr job!
Hey Scott - while you're in there see if there's anything that can rattle. I swear I hear a rattle in my door panels when driving on bumpy roads. I'd like to hear your opinion on what in there caould be the source.
Hi again Scott - When you have the door panel off - take a peek and see if you have these 3 rubber pads (see pic) that they say to use in the Aston Martin Rattles & Squeaks Manual (My God they have a manual for that) to prevent the door panel rattle. Gotta think it was a widespread issue if it's in a manual
No, those anti-rattle pads are in place- they're more like closed-cell packing foam than rubber. Everything inside the door seems to be well secured, and I think it would be possible for that bolt that worked loose on mine to fall out, and have the window stay in its track thru friction for a period of time. I used Loctite on mine, as I was afraid to torque it down as much as I would have liked for fear of breaking the glass.

I had a rattle in my door, turns out a screw had came off the armrest pad and was inside the metal part it rests on
