Ah - would have like to have seen that. Max is fast, he reminds me of Kyle Bush during his Hendrick days.

Ditto - everything Richard Seidlitz said. Perfectly put. Time will tell, but I think Aston Martin has made some serious design mistakes.

Good review Richard. I think you captured a lot of what other people have been trying to convey. I frequent a car forum with lots of people who race and other die hard car people. When I bought the Vantage there was a lot of discussion about why you would buy one. It wasn't the best performing car in its segment (not even close really) and the outgoing car certainly had its share of quirks. So why buy one? It's what I'll call the experience - from the gorgeous lines on the outside to the beautiful interior to the sound. It's an experience to look at and drive the car, even though it's not super fast. They've addressed the performance with the new car, but lost a lot of that experience. It has lost its soul. Maybe they can refine things to find that soul again, but there's only so much they'll be able to do. Maybe folks buying cars don't care about that experience and only care about numbers and want to go fast. But there are other cars out there that do that better and I think Aston has lost some of what made them unique.

Drove the new Vantage today. Not bad... doesn’t feel as special as the previous generation. I walked away feeling underwhelmed.
