In 2015 I bought a new R8 V8 and a new V8V. Both have manual transmissions.
In my opinion they are both wonderful cars. They are however so different from one another that owning both is never boring or redundant.
I took European deliver of my R8 in September 2007 (bucket list stuff). I really loved that car as it was my first "exotic" One year later, it became a victim of the crash of 2008... Then in 2010 I spotted a 2007 V8 Vantage in front of a Bentley dealership. The price was right so I purchased it... The car was so much more tailored, bespoke and refined... than the R8. In 2013 I traded that car in for a new Vantage S which I still have (so much better in every way than the 2007 Vantage. So it seems that I became so smitten with the Aston Martin brand that I didn't even consider a 2013 R8. My next car will be the new Vantage when it finally arrives with the manual transmission... In Goodwood or Sage Green. Cheers.
