fabspeed gen 1 vs gen 2

guys
a fabspeed gen 1 vs gen 2

i know the gen 1 has 100 cell cats, and is louder than the gen 2

does it also give more power ?

i love my fabspeed gen 2, but its too quiet for me

it has a bit of drone, which i like, but i want more noise, without the loss of power

so i assumed that a gen 1, with the twin can and 100 cell cats would yield more power and torque than a gen 2

am i correct ?

I think gen1 is single can and gen2 is dual can. gen1 is FAMOUS for incessant drone, not just being loud, so..... "watch what you wish for!"

Which 2 do you have i.e. moderate, loud, etc?

I have a gen2 moderate and I have gotten used to it. I had a friend drive it last week as I was thinking of switching to a Tubi and can say it sounds very, very good. If it means anything I did not switch out for the Tubi!

We have one Gen. 1 system with 100 cell race catalytic converters left on the shelf--P.M. or email Joey@fabspeed.com if you are interested.

I don't mean to hijack - but is the Gen 1 system modular just like Gen 2?

It seems the various forum posts consider the Gen 1 to produce more power at the cost of noise. But if it's not a daily driver - who cares about noise?

How can you tell the difference

I have fab speed on my mine but it came with the car. Is there a way to tell what generation it is just by looking?

Yes. The gen1 has a single canister whereas the gen2's have two cans.

Hey Joey- what do a set of 100 cels' go for and do you have any idea what the "used" market might be for 200's?

I had the new fabspeed cats and sold them to have the older system which I modded. The newer cats were not quite as loud as the new ones, but supposedly flow better. I have drone with the Gen1 but it is not abusive in my opinion, but I do like loud. I had the 200's with straight pipes previously and it was louder and also had drone. If you do not want drone then stay with the quiet. But the drone does not bother me.

gen I - crazy drone, wanted to throw the exhaust away after a long highway drive, and i love loud exhaust systems. But it did produce MORE power vs the exhaust system i have now.
