Keys for v8v

I got a plastic key fob and a glass key fob delivered with my v8v. Does the key fob give any indication of when battery is going to go out because I don’t know if or when the previous owners changed them. Is there also supposed to be a normal metal key that you can use to open the door?

Mine did not come with a metal key. Unless it’s like some of the BMWs were you can pull the metal key directly out of a key fob and use it to unlock your door?

Not sure on the battery, but the metal key is completely independent. You should be able to order it from your dealer.

Key fob does not have an indicator (such as a flashing light) letting you know the battery is low, however the functionality becomes sporadic.

For what little it costs, just replace the batteries yourself and know what you have.
