how much will they give you in trade in you think for your 2015?

 

The trade value I'd been getting is be something less than $90, not enough for me to make a move. I'd need to do a trade because the taxes - I'd otherwise pay 6.5% in taxes, so if I got $100K in a trade, that would save me $6500 in taxes, so if I sold my car outright I'd need to get that much more to break even compared to a trade.

Any San Francisco Bay Area V12VS owners around that would be open to given a future AM owner a ride to experience a V12VS with the SS3 transmission? I've driven a V8V with the manual so I have a good reference point. Getting serious again after a few years in a 993 Targa and been doing my homework and chatting with owners on the East Coast. Focus has initially been on finding a nice V8V manual 2009-2015. But after more research the V12V manual (2011-12) and now the V12VS (2015+) has gotten a lot of attention. Would love to experience the V12VS to help focus my search. Thanks!

Do Not Hesitate! Go for it! Definitely go for V12 6 speed and stay away from the touchtronic models. V12S is like a footballer hooligan on the roads. My assessment is that it will have outstanding legacy value as one of the last AM Brit manual brutes in future and will be very desirable on collectability.

 

 

Last time I checked he's looking at Vantage models. No Gaydon era Vantage has ever been offered with a torque converter automatic = Touchtronic in Aston speak.

 

Looks like the 2017 v12s doglegs are actually selling in the high 180s. Such a small sample size though, so could be flukes. Either way, it’s still too much money and way too early.

Think the 2011/12 v12 manuals are still the sweet spot.

 

im totally torn boys...my 08 v8 vantage isnt worth much anymore. I can get the v12...they are 80-90k easy right now or im thinking f430.

i know different cars but still...totally torn.

i could probally swing keeping the vantage and buy the 430 as well. BUT only 2 car driveway and wife has to park inside.

 

Definitely a first-world problem (I'd insert a smiley face if I could). I'd go the '11-'12 V12 with the manual 6 w/o a doubt. Are you seeing those in the 80s-90s? I'm guessing you are referring to the non MT version.

 

Very different cars indeed, and each with their own appeal. I am not personally particularly fond of V8 Ferraris and only really enjoy them when really thrashing them, but when really pushing they are a lot of fun.

If you can get a good 6 speed V12 at that price point I think it's a tremendous buy. I don't like single clutch paddle boxes and would avoid the V12S, but no 6 speed F430 worth touching would be anywhere near that price.

 

Very different cars, goto35. Given you've driven the 08 V8 for a while, a 430 could be a fun change, but it's an attention magnet, not fun in traffic, and likely will cost more to maintain. I agree that the V12 manual is a solid buy right now - which is why I'm looking for one - but a Ferrari is Ferrari. If you can afford it, it worth trying out at least once!

And no, you shouldn't park either of these cars outside.

 

Funny, I’m in the same position. I have a had an ‘08 for 5 years now and the v12 has really caught my attention. I missed out on the red one in CA. If anyone is looking to unload their volcano red v12, I’m interested.
