Another quickjacks user here. I trust my oil changing abilities far more than I trust the dealer. Plus, the nearest dealer is more than 2 hours away. I have a stack of $1299 annual dealer oil change and "inspection" receipts from my car's previous owner. No way I would even consider paying that rip-off amount. My quickjacks cost less than that!

 

As great as Rich is, he's not the cheapest source.

 

I have done my own oil changes using a Bendpak scissor lift. Very simple to do. On occasion, I use a local garage where I bring them the AM filter, new sump plugs and Motul oil I get from Rich at Redapants. They just charge me for 1 hour labor. The one time I had it changed at an AM dealer, the tech screwed the oil filter on too tight. (rookie mistake). The following year, I had a heck of a time getting it off.

 

Thanks for the ebay info. Prices have gone up a bit - $38 for the filter now from Scuderia and $130 now for the oil - but still pretty good. I paid $135 for 12L of Castrol Supercar recently.
