Very likely we're going to be manufacturing something from scratch (as far as the controls go), so it's going to take some time... but much like what I have my team do at Bmmpr, we're going to build it the way it *should* have been from the factory floor.
The final solution has to be fully wireless, or it's a dud.

I never removed center stack panels. I was watching YouTube video and captured this shot. It may be possible to fit in single DIN unit replacing CD player, rearrange buttons and have a custom panel built .. long shot ...
I recall seeing a video from an installer in NYC that mounted an iPhone in the center console armrest... that's an ideal location for touch screen access with the nav screen being a mirror...
sort of like the touch pad concept of the new MB... Console armrest could be repurposed from wreck or bought new with a new Alcantara or leather cover to match or contrast interior...
Converting files to one format or another is a sore point for many users. If you need to do this quickly and efficiently - the question becomes doubly sick. Among hundreds of “one-day” programs on the Internet, you can find such a good application as video. It can be loaded very simply - in just a couple of minutes.
From a Facebook post by Aston Installations, they seem to have a new version for 2020 with wireless carplay. I left a message for James @ Aston Installations for info and will post back when he responds. In the meanwhile, reach out to James @ Aston Installations directly or Rich @ Redpants if anybody is interested.
In my experience, wireless CarPlay is BS. The nav app (Waze etc.) uses way too much power, it drains the phone's battery in an hour or so. Hooking it up will eliminate that problem.
