Question regarding delivery timeline for Aston on order from factory
Question regarding delivery timeline for Aston on order from factory
I live in California. I ordered the new Vantage AMR with the 7 speed manual. I'm a long time repeat Porsche 911 owner. I'm looking forward to a new experience and having driven the Vantage with the automatic I think the Vantage manual will be a great fit for me. Here's the question: I placed my order in May of 2019 with a planned delivery of Q4 2019. The dealer tells me we "should" be on track to make delivery as stated. I haven't been able to get any information about when my car might actually be built & knowing that it's 3-4 weeks for shipment the window feels sort of tight to me. Does anyone have experience with this process? And/ or is there a way to check on timelines?
This last summer I went on a tour of the factory & it seems pretty precisely run so I'd have to imagine they'd have a good sense of plan to build the first batch of manual transmission Vantages.
Any insight would be very helpful. Thank you.

I just finalized an order last Friday for a 7 speed AMR and that was 2 days past when the factory wanted my final specifications for the car for production purposes. The factory had already started to build the car with the basics of my specifications even before my contract was signed and all the options were finalized. The expected delivery for my car is December. So I get the sense they're busy making the new AMRs. But I've not yet gotten an update (it's only been one week) how far along they are on mine.
Mine is blue with gloss black wheels. I got all the functional options offered but not really anything else interior or exterior wise besides the wheels.
How about you?
I have an existing 2014 V8V 6 speed that I plan to keep and really like driving. I also like the new Vantage but I couldn't really justify spending that much money on a new vantage (or any other exotic car) without a clutch pedal. So that problem is now solved.

China Gray Exterior with Gloss Black Wheels. Madagascar Orange brake calipers. All options with basic interior colors.
