Instrument Cluster Dim Lighting

Instrument Cluster Dim Lighting
Hello,
Does anybody know if the LEDs in the instrument cluster can be easily replaced? The instrument cluster looks dim (setting is all the way up), and it looks like there may just be a couple LEDs but I can't tell for sure. Thanks!

Did mine in an evening, just be careful taking the cluster out and the bulbs just twist in.

Thanks randyb. Do you have instructions on taking the cluster out? Also, are the bulbs 194/168 led bulbs and were there just 2?

How do I check the light sensor and where is it located? I did notice sometimes when driving that the cluster sometimes dims for a brief moment.

I’ve been paying more attention to the instrument cluster and it jumps between full brightness to a dim setting both during the daytime and at night so the light bulbs are fine. There is no pattern. I tried placing my hand on the light sensor on the dash but it didn’t affect it. Any other ideas how to test the light sensor?

If you have something weird going on with your sensor, it could be a symptom of some sort of short. You could try to get in there and see what you can find, but I wouldn't recommend it. Even just changing bulbs, which, yes, you can do, can result in setting off your cluster's tampering warnings. Clusters aren't something you can really DIY like most parts. I'd give the folks at https://www.instrumentclusterstore.c...nt_cluster.htm a call before attempting anything. They are an independent shop and they focus exclusively on clusters, so I've been able to get some really good answers from them about my issues.
