Sport Shift Gearbox Issue
Sport Shift Gearbox Issue
Had something bizarre happen driving my 2010 Vantage yesterday. Was driving along in 5th gear (~40mph) and as I started going up a slight incline it suddenly jumped into neutral. I hit the up shift paddle and it went back to 5th, though when I pressed on the accelerator the revs came up like it was still in neutral (even though the dash showed "5"). I then hit the down shift paddle and it went into 4th, then drove fine again (including going back up to 5th and 6th). Any ideas what could possibly cause this? I have noticed that "occasionally" lately it's be slow shifting from 1 to 2, or 2 to 3, but it's very inconsistent when it does it.
Not sure if it could be the clutch, transmission control module, or something else.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

low on fluid or perhaps clutch not purged properly? Dealer has to reset the clutch after fluid change for the clutch and brakes... Did you have clutch and brake fluid changed at same time?
Changing the gear oil isnt going to help with jumping in and out of gear FYI.
Are you properly starting the car and letting the car learn clutch depth?
Perform 15 cold clutch learns, than take it out for a good drive to blow out the cats. Clutch is probably failing. Does it chatter at low speed/reverse? Based on the age & miles on your Vantage, i'd beat your ASM lines are probably dry cracked and sweating and your ASM fluid is probably low. Just an FYI an ASM car does not use the same master cylinder like the manuals do. The ASM fluid is Pentosin, where on a manual car the MC used DOT 4 brake fluid.
