Coated DB9 wheel rims

I would like to share my experience coating wheel rims for my 2015 Aston Martin DB9. I bought the car new and never done this before. Recently I coated my BMW Z4 wheels with Gyeon Quartz RIM, pleased with the results, I wanted to do the same for DB9 wheel rims. To my surprise, there is some white residue inside of the rims on barrels. Washed with Gyeon Iron, dried with microfiber towels and wiped with Gyeon Prep. 3 of 4 wheel barrels needed polishing to get rid of the white residue (whatever it is). Coating the rims inside out with Gyeon Quartz RIM was easy. I applied 2 coats. Each wheel took about 20 minutes for each coating. They look very nice now. I did consider 22ple VM1 Extreme Rim and Metal Coating. But price, age of wheels and proven results made me go for Gyeon Quartz RIM.

Here are before and after photos of front passenger side wheel.

Rejuvenates finish and more. Just like ceramic coating, it is SiO2 based product designed specifically for rims. It is hydrophobic and makes it easier to clean wheels as well as help protect from brake dust and dirt. If there is any dirt, I just wash with water using garden hose with little or no soap. Check out https://gyeonquartz.com/product/rim/

Gyeon Quartz RIM comes with 1 applicator pad and 4 suede cloths. I didn't find them enough. So, I bought 4" applicator pads from Amazon (Fasmov 4" Foam Applicator Pads, 36 Pack), cut one into 4 pieces and used 1 piece for each application.
Here is a good video from Esoteric -
