I'm replacing all the HBNR o-rings in my AC system since it's "easy" to get to them with the engine out. In the main they are all in the kit I bought at Advance Auto.
I was totally vexxed by removing the AC line clip at the bulkhead, part 16 on this sheet:
I cut a paperclip to get the two metal prongs, which I jammed in to release the metal clip. I used the blade of a screwdriver to pop it off. Worked like a champ!
Not sure what the o-rings were made of, but they weren't dyed green like a HBNR o-ring should be (even in 2006...).
I've taken to using a M6X1.0 bottoming tap on all the threaded holes to clean them up. This has been especially needed by the aluminum parts that don't have inserts. Hopefully the anti-seize I've been applying will make it easier next time!
