Future Parts Availability - 2008 - 2016 Vantage

I have never owned an Aston Martin but love the cars. I’m in the final stages of my hunt for a V8 Vantage. This forum has been a great source of knowledge and I appreciate all the information sharing. As I’ve learned more about this company it seems like the brand is liked by many and has a loyal following. That being said, AM seems to be continually in and out of financial trouble over the years.

With all of the concern about the current leadership and direction of the company, should I be concerned about being able to get parts for a 2012-2016 V8 Vantage in the future at a “reasonable” price? It doesn’t seem to me that there are enough of these cars in the world to support third party OEM for all the parts that might be needed. Will AM keep supplying parts for a model not in production anymore?

Check out Aston Martin Bits - I actually have bought more parts from them over the years instead of Aston Martin direct. Most of my Aston ownership's been under warranty, but in the odd instances I had or chose to change something - they have always been there and less cost than Aston.

many parts are from other manufacturers, such as Ford, Volvo, e.t.c...

it's a limited production, hand built car...

I always thought that an auto manufacturer has to make parts available for 10 years.

I had asked multiple dealers about parts availability and one said most of the parts 97% are still available for the DB9 at least but I agree if AM stops selling major parts like headlights we have an issue. If it's minor things like seat Motors which are rebranded Ford parts it's not a issue. If it's the one off or proprietary parts then we got an issue.

You can still get parts for cars built in the 20s by manufactures who've been out of business for decades. I wouldn't worry about it.

Wait until it breaks, then source the parts. V8 Vantage has very little issues.

Be aware the 2-16 has a very different ski-slope dash internals - so those parts will be much more expensive and harder to replace in the future - possibly.
