Coolant smell, V8V N420

Hi,
There is a coolant smell coming from the expansion tank area after the engine warms up nicely. I can not find any indication of a leak and the coolant level in the tank is to the top. When loosening the cap after the car has cooled completely, it does gurgle a bit, I assume this is normal? Any ideas on where to look for what I am guessing is a small leak?

Thanks

I had that same issue for a while until the leak where coolant tank is joined (top to bottom) finally was enough to see. Of course you might want to visually check all the hose connections ( small to/from tank and large radiator) as well as the radiator fo signs of a leak. If nothing , you might need to get the cap checked.

You can add a dye to the coolant that will glow under a black light flash light. It makes it easier to track down the source of a leak.

The overflow / expansion tank is located in the wheel well, mounted low, behind the liner. There is a breather / overflow drain hose on it - maybe take a whiff down there? I had assumed the tank up in the engine compartment was the overflow until I removed the wheel well liner this eve.
