I have installed a Garmin DriveSmart 66 into the existing DB9 (2008) SAT NAV clam..........it fits like a glove. Has Alexa, nav voice control, so no need to touch anything. Wired the up/down cover to the existing dash nav button, and it is powered by USB to a ignition 12v source. All sounds including phone and music come out of the stereo system as it is WiFi connected using a Bovee Bluetooth/iPod dongle in the glove box. I have also installed a 12v WiFi router with a 4g SIM in the boot that it connects to for updates, and also my iPhone for live traffic info and music streaming.
Pictures of the unit removed before install. The holes at the rear are for the USB power cable, power switch & ventilation. Also changed the up/down gear wheels as a future precaution.
Close up of how the original spring clip fits Alexa using the Garmin display and car audio system to play Pandora streaming music. Just one example of what can be done with this "Sat Nav" upgrade.
I did the same nav upgrade using a Garmin DriveSmart 66, although I did mine a bit differently. I removed the crap*y old Volvo screen from the clam box and fixed the new Garmin unit inside it....the 66 fits perfectly, I then run the USB power through the centre console into the armrest compartment where the 12v/USB power is. Basically, the new Sat Nav looks totally factory when open. I also added a Bovee Bluetooth unit to the iPod socket, and installed a 12v in-car WiFi unit (using a unlimited 4g SIM card) in the boot. Everything (phone/any online music/YouTube/Spotify/nav/Alexa) now plays wirelessly through the existing sound system, and I do not have to remove the nav to get map/firmware updates via a PC or home network thanks to the in-car WiFi router.

this sounds like a nice set up. I'm thinking of using a spare phone with Sim card instead of a wifi router to do same thing.

Does the clam shell open when you turn the ignition on? Like the OEM screen?

Yes it does. You need to make sure you plug the unit back in using the two existing plugs at the bottom. The ribbon connector to the nav screen is just set aside.
