Would you: Get out of the Vantage and get into a C8?
So I have cooled down on the C8 buy... After several coffee and cars this year, I still saw Lambos, Ferrari's and other exotics get the most camera time. I see you have to really customize it to make it stand out and the dealer markup is still outrageous...
I'm watching the used prices on the 458/488's too...
THE MID-ENGINE ITCH....

I'm old.
So I've heard since the '80's how the new Corvette is the "best Corvette yet" and a budget exotic and (somehow) comparable to a Ferrari.
Thank goodness I don't have a barn full of them.
I'll pass.....again. (Or still).

You won't find many on this forum recommending you go with the C8. The same but vice versa on any Corvette forum. The C8 is a formidable sports car, with perhaps the most bang for the buck of any sports car in the world today. The Vantage is a very solid spots car as well but more of a GT and it has looks to die for. My guess is you will get more thumbs up with the Aston. Not that the C8 won't draw lots of looks also, the question is what kind of looks as you blow past.

In my humble opinion, Isn't owning a unique car like the Aston Martin part of why we bought them? I mean, I see C8s every single day. Great looking car and I'm sure a lot of fun to drive, but not all that unique. No disrespect, but, for me, owning something that is rare far outweighs the flashy, sporty, flavor of the month/year.

Went from Aston to C8
I went from a 2017 V12S to a C8, while the transition was mostly financial (savings of $2,000 a month while in warranty, and $2,500 a month when warranty is extended), vs. paying cash for a $68,000 C8. If I ordered the Z51 with the better suspension, the ride would have been identical to the V12S (I drove a Z51 back to back with my V12S), but I went with the soft suspension - a regret, but got used to the very slight 'float'. Also, the leatherette tan interior is of course far below the Aston, but a lot nicer than my wife's M235 BMW. It took a few months, but my V12S is still for sale at Morres in Minneapolis, so I see it every few weeks. The more I have the C8 - the less I miss the Vantage - however, after the pandemic recovers having a 2009+ Vantage if I can find a deal is not out of the question, but I'll be driving the C8 far more often. I chose Blade Silver with the Tan interior, to be more elegant. The C8 extended warranty - bumper to bumper without a upcharge to 7 years was just $1,800 - about the same cost as the inspection just to keep the Aston Warranty. As far as power, about the same as the V12S - and as far as the noise - all that engine and the insulation mutes the sound unless you floor the thing - I do miss that Aston sound. Even a fake sound is better. As far as radiator issues - be real... there are now about 1/2 dozen options that take just minutes to install to keep the radiators safe, and there are no problems with the side radiators. Gas mileage- pretty consistent 30 on the highway, and 20 in the city driving semi-aggressive. The look grows on you. Color (same with Aston) makes a huge difference.
I saw one today while driving and from the back I was not impressed with the looks at all. It's a bit too busy and the wing on it made it just that much worse. Of course it may be a dream to drive and the interior may be fantastic, and I have no doubt that it's reliable with that chevy v8, but from the back it was a disaster. Embarrassingly so in fact.....IMO.
I was thinking maybe I'd made a mistake with the Vantage. Looks-wise I now know I didn't.
