I just did a 2-year service on my Vantage yesterday and while filling the oil reservoir I noticed that my dipstick doesn't have "4.7L V8" laser etched on it. I'm wondering if that means I have a dipstick from a 4.3.

I checked Scuderia, the part numbers are different: 9G33-6766-AB for the 4.3 and 9G33-6766-BC for the 4.7L engines. I didn't check the part number on the part itself; I'll have to do that after I get home from work today. In the meantime, does anyone know if the lengths are different? I really don't want to under- or over-fill my oil tank.

 

They hold the same amount, 4.3 has a round stick. 2009 may have had some run change on specific items. Does your key dock have the wings, or is it black?

 

The dipstick is round except where the level markings are. There, it's flat. There's no part number on it, either.
